10 Portraits in 10 Minutes-2

Image

Here is the second installment of my series “10 Portraits in 10 Minutes”. It’s really been a blast pushing myself to create great narrative portraits in such a short amount of time.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

10 Portraits In 10 Minutes.

This is the first installment in a new series I’m starting to work on. It’s called “10 portraits in 10 minutes.” I recently picked up a book called “People Pictures: 30 Exercises for Creating Authentic Photographs” by Chris Orwig and got the idea from there. It’s a great book whether you’re a beginning photographer or a seasoned pro.

This first series is of Rhett Haynes. I’ve know him for a long time. He’s a great friend, great assistant, and great photographer in his own right. We’ve been in the photography industry in Indianapolis for a while now. Rhett is one of the most real and authentic people I know, so I figured he would be a great first subject in this new project.

Enjoy!

Alan Ingram

May the force be with you.

Last year I went to Downtown Disney with the family. One of the shops we went to was called “Once Upon A Toy”. That is were we found these awesome toys. They had a box you could stuff with all these Mr. Potato Head parts. They had tons of Star Wars parts and some other miscellaneous parts. My kids loved it. The best $20.00 ever!

Bloomington Criterium 2011

My family and I went to the Bloomington Criterium this past Saturday evening. It was a great time and saw some great bike racing. I would highly recommend anyone to go to this event next year if they have the chance.

An evening at the Indianapolis Zoo

We all went to the zoo last Friday evening. Normally I don’t bring out the big camera for these trips but we were there for the last hour and a half of the night. The crowds were gone and we were able to just have a nice relaxing time at the zoo. I hope you enjoy a few images from the night.

Crohn’s Disease Photography Project

Crohn’s Project

As you may know, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease last year.  Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory disease of the intestines that may affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract, causing a wide variety of symptoms. It primarily causes abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, or weight loss, but may also cause complications outside of the gastrointestinal tract such as skin rashes, arthritis, inflammation of the eye, tiredness, and lack of concentration. Long-term effects can include disability and cancer.

I’m looking for people with Crohn’s to help me with a new personal project. I’d like to tell the stories of people with Crohn’s disease by shooting portraits, video, and audio to give voice to the issues related to the disease. I’m also looking for anyone with other forms of inflammatory bowl disease (IBD) such as Ulcerative Colitis to participate in the project.

I’d like to use this project to help draw awareness to the disease. If any of you have IBD or any of your family or friends have IBD please let them know about this, and invite them to join me in this project.

Thanks!

Winter Olympics

I don’t know about you, but at our house everything stops during the Olympics. Winter and Summer. Here are a few images of Bode Miller and Gretchen Bleiler. I was lucky enough to shoot a celebrity golf event out in Aspen a couple summers ago. They were both great to meet and incredibly nice.

Enjoy.

My little models

Yesterday was finally a good day to get outside and do a little testing with a new camera and my favorite little models. Overcast days can provide some great light.
Enjoy!
